The politics by
Arvind Kejriwal is somehow different from others but not completely different
and unique. Kejriwal is a man who changed the whole contemporary Indian
political scenario within no time. He forced the leaders to think over the 65+
year old politico-administrative setup. He showed that elections can be fought
even without money.
Kejriwal launched his own political party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on the 2nd of
October, 2012 and fought his maiden Delhi assembly elections. When the result
was announced, everyone was surprised to see that one year old debutant
fetching 28 seats, oh my goodness. Though, it resulted in a hung house having
split mandates. Kejriwal decided to organize Public gatherings to decide
whether he should form a government or not. It could have been better if he
could have asked "whether he should form a government with the help of
Congress or not"? Eventually he was successful to form a govt for 49
days...just one short of half century!
He is having that adhesiveness and a strong crowd
pulling force but at the same time he has the worst crowd management idea.
There are lots of example of crowd mismanagement like- Janata Darbar held in
front of Central Secretariat premises resulted in a chaotic situation and CM
had to leave the venue immediately, later on CM went on the terrace of CS
building to consolidate the gatherings saying now onwards there will be no
Janata Darbar, people would have to file the complaints online or through
dedicated helpline. Recent chaos and fuss at Mumbai Airport and other places during road-show
prove that he is lacking the idea of good crowd management. Now an FIR has been
filed against him for violating traffic rules, even that auto rickshaw driver, who
took Kejriwal from airport to other place, was charged with heavy fine.
Media called him as “A man in hurry”.
It seemed that he was inspired from Nayak(Anil Kapoor starring movie ). Some
creative guys on YouTube even produced a spoof video called Nayak-2(sequel of
Nayak starring Arvind Kejriwal). Holding the Delhi CM post, he wanted to remove
corruption within a day; he wanted to do everything he promised in a single day
which consequently led him to resign over not passing Jan Lokpal Bill.
He added a new chapter in the
history of Indian politics by becoming Dharna-King. Earlier a CM had never sat
on dharna, he sat on dharna demanding to suspend three police personals and to
bring Delhi police under state control but he called off dharna within 3 days after getting assurance
of sending SHOs on the leave by the home
ministry.
Some says giving resignation was
nothing but a political gimmick as actually he wanted to prepare for LS polls. Earlier
he had said that seating MLA, he or other from AAP won’t fight LS polls. So, it
may be considered as a tactic to participate in LS. Though, till now at least his
name is not in the list of candidates but there is a growing probability that he
will fight against Modi.
One cannot deny that AAP also is now
indulged in vote bank politics. Recently Kejriwal said that Khaps are part of
our culture, so it is said to grab the votes of Jats and nothing else. Calling
Modi a communal leader again and again may help AAP to get votes from Muslim
but Kejriwal is forgetting that the SIT he is demanding for ’84 riots
investigation, the same SIT has given clean chit to Modi. It proves that he is
indulged himself in vote bank politics. He is trying to allure different class,
caste and religion just to get the votes.
He now knows that attacking the
sinking boat of Congress won’t help him anymore to grab the throne at the center
but now he has to counter the monster Modi. So, nowadays he is bombarding all
the weapons he has to counter Modi. Kejriwal went on a four day visit to
Gujarat, he was detained by the police because he was violating the Modal Code
of Conduct of Election but what came in news Modi detained him. Next day, while
he was going to meet Modi without any prior appointment police again detained
him but what came in the news Modi detained him, nobody is safe here anything
can happen anytime. His own party MLA takes a prior appointment to meet him. How
can he meet anyone without taking appointment?? This can be considered as dirty
politics to malign the name of Modi.
Recently, he organized “Fund Raising
Dinner with Kejriwal” in which the rate at Bengaluru was Rs.20000/- per plate
and at Nagpur the rate was Rs. 10000/- only. What does it mean by Aam Aadmi
party? A khaas aadmi dinner party??
Some founder members of AAP have
alleged that this party is deviating from the main goal and this party is
working like a Pvt. Ltd. Company. His own members said that during AAP govt at
Delhi, only some 2-3 people took key decisions in a closed room. Some even
accused him for not giving appointments. Despite mounting pressure Kejriwal did not sack
his own tainted minister Somnath Bharti, gave him clean chit through his own
internal investigation and did not even bother to proceed a investigation
against him. So this is what Aam Aadmi Party.
Two three days ago a video went viral
on YouTube and on TV Channels showing that Kejriwal and Punya Prasun Vajpayi
from AajTak having conversation on which part to show on the channel, which to
not and how much to show. This video on YouTube has crossed the 15 Million
views and Kejriwal has no answer for this, why?? Some AAP leaders are alleging
that it’s BJP behind the conspiracy. Now he is saying if he comes to power he
will put the media persons in jail. Nothing can be bad than this kind of news.
It is putting a serious question mark on the authenticity of AAP as well as
Kejriwal’s politics.
To top it all, it is not only the
issue of corruption or passing Janlokpal Bill for running the country like
India. To run this country, party should tell its own internal security policy,
external affairs policy, environmental policy, Economic policy and other
policies. But till now AAP has not even talked about all these and only eyeing
on the throne at center.
Right now, we need a strong leader
from all the point of views. We need a stable govt to pursue our long term goal.
But in Kejriwal, there is no longevity. He may create situation like Delhi
assembly in the LS polls. There are some dubious ideas appearing in his vision.
He is appearing not better than others. Kejriwal should depict his own vision
to take India forward rather than a continuous attack on Modi. He will gain
nothing, lose everything he has gained and others will gain for sure.
(My views are personal.)
His
father was an engineer and he spent most of his childhood living in
small northern Indian towns like Sonepat, Mathura and Hissar.
